Lifelong friends, acquaintances or rivals? A simple 1-10 rating of university friendships in our countries.

“How would you rate your university friendships?”

It is the most basic, yet one of the most interesting questions we can ask when we hear about "student relationships".

With that in mind, we asked our respondents about their opinions on that topic, and the answers did not shock us.

What were the results?

In all of our 3 countries, ratings are considerably high and very similar to each other. On a scale of 1-10, the responses that we got look as follows:

-        Poland: on average 7.06/10

-        Lithuania: on average: 8.04/10

-        Bulgaria: on average 7.55/10

Which would look a bit like:

We can see a slight difference between Poland and Bulgaria, with Bulgaria having a 0.49 point lead, which is not a big gap. Lithuania is the only country to have a rating above 8 points, indicating that the student relationships are the best there.

Conclusions:

Despite those differences, we can all confidently say that our university friendships are – internationally – in a good state and that we can call our fellow students good friends.

  2. The results and the ratings were really surprising to me! Although I would appreciate if I could read on what the students had to say about this question in-depth, instead of having just the results on the screen and a quick analysis...

I'm actually quite surprised that Poland scored the lowest (even though the score is by no means low) on the poll, especially with how friendly everyone here is and how well they seem to get along. The results give quite an interesting insight into the matter of relationships between university friends.

The results surprised me because us, Lithuanians are typically closed off. Feels good to be first though.
